Tour Description

The private 1-hour tour offers a calm and personal introduction to riding Icelandic horses in South Iceland. With your guide focused solely on your group, the pace and level of instruction are adapted to your comfort and experience. Beginners receive clear guidance in the riding hall before setting out, while more experienced riders may explore a slightly more forward rhythm depending on conditions.

Each rider is thoughtfully matched to a suitable horse. The surrounding countryside offers open views, gentle terrain, and a quiet setting that reflects daily life at a working breeding farm rather than a high-volume riding stable.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time.

What to Expect

  • You will meet your guide at the riding hall and receive a short safety introduction. Helmets are mandatory and provided. Riders are shown how to mount and handle their horse before leaving the stable area.

  • Horses are selected based on rider size, confidence, and experience. Our Icelandic horses are well-trained, calm, and responsive.

  • Once comfortable, you ride out into the open countryside surrounding the farm. The route follows natural terrain and farmland with views across the landscape between Selfoss and Flúðir.

  • After returning to the stable, there is time to dismount safely and ask questions about the horses and farm life.
